A Shining Light!
Our mother lived an incredible life!
She dedicated her life to her heavenly father with deep admiration for his love for her.
Every person she came in contact with, she radiated her father’s light by living out the scripture…
“let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven”
Her life represented her father well, very well.
She “trained up her child in the way they should go, so when they grew up they won’t depart”
And her husband called her blessed!
Her wisdom guided so many of our lives, her calm, consistent, unwavering words gave us hope to live a better life.
A life she loved to live, a life totally surrendered to the Lord!
She believed her father’s words and promises.
— Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
— Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
She exemplified the life of a virtuous woman
“She was clothed with strength and dignity …
“She spoke with wisdom, and gave faithful instruction.”
Her heart beated with gladness to her favorite scriptures, like Psalm 103.
“Bless the Lord, oh my soul and ALL that’s within me, bless his holy name”!!!
All of her, every part of her was a holy demonstration unto the Lord.
She didn’t have to say much in public, but her life in private said it all!
She gave in private,
mentored in private,
held many secrets in private,
but most of all she prayed in private.
When her knees hit the floors and her mouth opened wide…she knew her father ALWAYS heard her cries!!
Her cry’s for break through,
Her cry’s for deliverance,
Her cry’s for healing,
Her cry’s to defeat the enemy.
She believed with everything within her, when she called on the name of JESUS…
EVERYTHING WOULD CHANGE!!!
Just like in Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Her faith was built on a solid foundation!
She had unshakable, faith!
Faith the size of a mustard seed, to say to ANY mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it moved.
Nothing was impossible in her eyes!
But with every prayer, she always praised! She admired and honor her father with the praise she carried on her lips.
She lived the 34 Psalm with great honor!
1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Her generous heart was unmatched!!
She gave with her time, talents and treasures!
She honored the greatest commandment unto us all (Matt 22:37-39)
37 ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.
She loved people deeply!
She cared about their well being and their soul. She held time and a listening ear to the broken hearted but always gave Godly wisdom.
She was a woman of very few words but when she spoke, it was with power and grace.
When she was first diagnosed, it was overwhelming to the family. One day, we came home from her appointment and she was settling in her bed. I was getting ready to leave and she stopped me and said,
“DON’T BE CONSUMED BY MY LIFE, THAT YOU FORGET WHO THE LIFE GIVER IS!”
Her words gave me comfort and guidance to stay focused on God.
She looked at me with that beautiful smile,
the smile we all know that could light up a room!
Oh, And her laughter made us all feel like everything would be ok!
Today, we honor and celebrate the life of a warrior, a brave and experienced soldier for the Lord.
Even though her physical presence has come to an end, her love has transitioned to a legacy that will never be forgotten.
It’s not because of everything she’s gain in the natural but everything she has gained in the supernatural.
She cherished her life because she knew one day it would transition into eternal rest
She lived everyday not like it was her last but as a mark to honor her eternal father.
She was committed, steadfast, faithful and unwavering about representing her father’s legacy well.
Despite the opposition she faced, the firery fernace she stood in,
She knew her father walked with her!
Just like in the 23rd Psalms,
The Lord was her shepherd; she did not want.
He maketh her to lie down in green pastures: he lead her beside the still waters.
He restoreth her soul: he lead her down the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though she walked through the valley of the shadow of death, she did not fear because God was with her: His rod and staff gave her comfort
Even in the presence of enemies: he anointed her head with oil, so her cup would run over
Goodness and mercy followed her all the days of her life
She held her position as a true warrior for the LORD!!
She knew there would be life after this!
She knew there would be life after this!
Life after dispare,
Life after disease,
Life after death.
And she was ready!!
She lived her life in preparation for eternity!
Inspite of how the wind blew,
Inspite of what others might have said,
She held on to the promise she made!
To let her light so shine that others may see her good works and glorified the father which is in heaven!!
Mommy, thank you for living by example!
To show us all we too can live a life FULLY committed and surrender to our heavenly father.
A life beyond our circumstances,
A life that represents the kingdom of God,
A life of great faith,
A life that’s well pleasing to the Lord.
You held on at every turn and you fought against all odds.
You stood in the gap defending the gospel of Jesus Christ
You will forever be a warrior of light, a beacon of hope to us all.
To trust in the Lord with all of our hearts and to lean not to our own understanding
But in all of our ways to acknowledge Him, for HE will direct our paths!
Family, let our lives be an accurate reflection of God’s love and grace.
Let us surrender our hearts to the Lord and uphold the promise to let His light shine through our lives.
Let us not be blinded by the plans of the enemy, to steal, kill and destroy
But let us defeat his agenda by being a warrior, a true soldier for the Kingdom of God.
Let us hold firm to our faith in the Lord and trusting His guidance for our lives.
Let us be unwavering and steadfast to defend the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Let us love and pray for one another.
Let us praise the Lord with all of our heart.
Let us all lived as our mother did,
FULLY COMMITTED TO OUR father ❤️
